PNP logs record-high 319 new COVID-19 cases

    MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday reported  a record-high 319 new COVID-19 cases as the total number of infections within the police force rose to 14,110. 

    The PNP’s previous single-day record number of cases was 229.

    The PNP added that of the total number of recorded cases, 1,951 are active infections, while 12, 123 patients have recovered. 

    The death toll stands at 36.

    On Friday, March 27, the Philippines reported 9,838 new COVID-19 cases, driving the country’s total number of cases to 702,856.
